Ivory label found in a mastaba, Ancient Egyptian, 1st dynasty, c3100-2890 BC. Found at Saqqara, it would have been attached to a box or jar in the tomb. It is inscribed with the names of King Djet and his estate manager Sekhemka-sedj. Also marked on the label is an indication of the contents of the container, the quantity and their place of origin.
